After having checked out Ubuntu 9.04 beta on my Vostro 1500, I thought I might as well give it a try on the much older Fujitsu S2020. Ubuntu didn’t fail to surprise me this time around. It performs much faster, from a UI usability perspective, than 8.10 did. Screen animations are much smoother.
Previously they used to be a bother because they we too slow, but now it really feels like eye candy :) Jaunty Jackalope has really made my older laptop usable again! Should run really well on the current generation of netbooks.
