I switched camps on font rendering. I was already getting to like the OS X font rendering but now I am positively loving it. Both images below were rendered on Windows. The first one is rendered in Firefox 3.5 Beta 4 and the second one in Safari 4 Beta. It should be obvious which one is better :)
In Windows Cleartype the large sized fonts look too thin for my taste. I will however note that Serif fonts at smaller sizes still look much better in Windows than on OS X. But then again it is bad design probably to use Serif fonts for smaller texts, use Verdana.
